Strappy dresses are a particular style of women’s clothing, the strappy bit being a reference to the means of hanging the dress over the shoulders.  These can be wide straps of fabric, probably the most comfortable type of straps, or really thin or narrow straps, some so thin they are known as spaghetti straps or noodle straps, the dress straps being only the same thickness as the pasta referred to!

These very thin straps would usually be a feature of very light weight dresses, often for evening wear, the famous “little black dress” being the most famous as a style of cocktail dress.
